Blockboard is a type of processed wood made from layers of wood, usually consisting of a softwood core ( such as albasia or sengon wood ) arranged vertically and glued between two layers of veneer or thin layers of hardwood on the top and bottom. The manufacturing process is similar to plywood ( multiplex ), but differs in the core structure.

Blockboard characteristics are, The solid wood core is usually in the form of small pieces of softwood arranged parallel. then the outer layer is coated with hardwood veneer to make it stronger.

Standard blockboard size Generally measuring 1220 mm x 2440 mm with varying thicknesses ( eg 15 mm, 18 mm ).

Advantages of Blockboard Lighter than MDF and particle board. blockboard is not easily curved compared to solid wood, especially for long sizes. Suitable for furniture such as tables, cabinets, doors, and partitions.
